HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police are investigating the homicide of a woman who died on Christmas Day.

Chiquita Lawanna Adams, 35, of 5507 Hornaday Road, Unit E, in Greensboro, was found dead in a hotel room at The Atrium Inn at 425 S. Main St., according to a police report.

Officers were called to the hotel about 1 p.m. on Dec. 25 after housekeeping came into the room and discovered her body, said Lt. Tracy Perry with High Point police.

Perry declined to say how Adams may have died, other than to say she wasn’t shot. Adams’ death was initially classified as suspicious, but was determined to be a homicide after an autopsy conducted Monday, Perry said.
