Damage reported after tornado in Union County

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A tornado touched down Monday south of Monroe tearing down trees and causing some damage to structures.

Large trees were knocked down and a shed was destroyed.

The National Weather Service said it was highly likely a tornado touched down in that area.

A woman said she was inside her home when the probable tornado hit.
