Additional arrests made in shooting death of child in Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police have made additional arrests in the shooting death of 1-year-old Maleah Williams, according to Chief Chris Blue.

Ramone Jamarr Alston, 22, and Pierre Je Bron Moore, 23, have each been charged with first-degree murder.

The shooting happened at about 5:40 p.m. on Christmas Day outside Maleah’s godparents’ apartment in the 700 block of Trinity Court in Chapel Hill.

Shaquille Oneill Davis, 22, was arrested on Sunday and charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Those charges will likely be upgraded.

Alson and Moore will be confined in the Orange County Jail under $1 million secured bonds, Blue said. Davis is being held in the Orange County Jail under a $650,000 secured bond.
