1-year-old girl in critical condition after Christmas Day drive-by shooting in NC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A 1-year-old girl remains in critical condition after a drive-by shooting in a Chapel Hill neighborhood on Christmas Day.

Chapel Hill police responded to the residence shortly before 5:45 p.m. in reference to a shooting. Police said shots were fired from a vehicle that was leaving a complex.

Officers found a 1-year-old girl had been shot and was taken to UNC Hospitals where she underwent surgery overnight and remains in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not released any information about a possible suspect or motive.
