Unknown man found walking near Lake Townsend identified

Update — Sheriff BJ Barnes released a statement saying the unknown man has been identified.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help identifying a man found walking on Yanceyville Road near Northbay Drive.

Deputies found the unidentified man around 4:05 p.m. Wednesday near Lake Townsend.

A sheriff’s office news release said the man is unaware of his name and cannot communicate.

The man is approximately 65 years old and was found wearing a blue plaid shirt, a black puffy jacket, blue jeans and a white baseball hat. He is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 116 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about this individual should call 911 or the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 641-3690.
