WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A third man is in custody in connection with the death of 23-year-old Jaquan Manchezor Rodman.

Laquan Marcese Pendleton, 25, is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping.

Pendleton was taken into custody in Clemmons on Tuesday with the help of the U.S. Marshals, according to Winston-Salem police.

Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department began searching for Rodman at 12:37 a.m. on Nov. 17 after receiving information that he had been kidnapped.

During the search, a driver traveling north on U.S. 52 discovered a body on the side of the road and called police.

After responding to the scene, officers found Rodman’s body.

Evidence collected at the scene indicated that Rodman had suffered at least one gunshot wound.

Tishaun Juawn Weaks, 26, and Christopher Earl Vargas Jr., 25, both of Winston-Salem, were charged Monday in Rodman’s death.

No booking photos will be released, Winston-Salem police said.
