Former SC deputy accused of misconduct with prostitute while on duty

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A former Chesterfield County sheriff’s deputy is facing up to 10 years in prison after allegations of misconduct that involved a prostitute, according to a news release.

David Rainwater, 42, was arrested by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Thursday and charged with misconduct in office.

An arrest warrant states Rainwater engaged in sexual acts with a female prostitute and that the offenses occurred numerous times throughout Chesterfield County while he was on duty.
