Man in custody after entering Rockingham County recovery center with gun, making threats

WENTWORTH, N.C. — A man was taken into custody after making threats with a firearm at Daymark Recovery Services on Monday afternoon.

According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:11 p.m. a man armed with a firearm entered Daymark Recovery Services, located at 405 N.C. 65, and threatened staff and others present in the building.

Sheriff’s deputies responded and were able to take the suspect into custody.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release Monday afternoon that they believe there was only one suspect.

No injuries were reported.
