2 charged with trafficking drugs in Yadkinville Food Lion

YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — Detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Yadkinville Police Department arrested two people over the weekend for allegedly trafficking drugs in a local grocery store.

Detectives said 31-year-old Shandi Nicole Lester and 27-year-old George Michael Gianera, both of East Bend, were arrested after an investigation revealed that they were selling and distributing prescription medication at the Food Lion in Yadkinville.

Lester and Gianera  were charged with four felony counts of trafficking a schedule II controlled substance; one felony count of selling and delivering a schedule II controlled substance; two felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a schedule II and IV controlled substance; one felony count of conspiracy to sell and deliver controlled substances; and one felony count of maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substances.

Both received a $25,000 secured bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16.
