Winston-Salem police investigate reported attempted kidnapping of 10-year-old

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police in Winston-Salem are investigating a report of a man who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old child.

Winston-Salem police said they responded to a reported “unknown trouble” call in the 200 block of Betsy Drive at about 3:30 p.m. Friday.

It was reported that the child was walking in the Betsy Drive area when a masked man got out of a gold sedan and tried to physically grab the victim.

The child was able to escape and went to a nearby residence, according to police. The suspect then left. No injuries were reported.

A description of the suspect has not been provided. The vehicle is described as a gold passenger vehicle, possibly a Nissan sedan, last seen in the 200 block of Betsy Drive.
