Shots fired in hostage situation in Wisconsin town

NEENAH, Wis. – Neenah police are asking residents who live within a 1/4 mile radius from Main and Doty Streets to shelter in place away from windows, in a basement if possible.

The request comes in response to a shooting and active hostage situation at Eagle Nation Cycles Saturday morning.

Police say a man walked into the store and fired a weapon.

As of 11:15 a.m., Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah was on alert to receive two patients, according to Megan Wilcox a spokesperson with the hospital.

As of 11 a.m. several law enforcement agencies were on the scene, including the Wisconsin State Patrol, Winnebago and Outagamie County Sheriff’s Offices, Neenah police, Town of Menasha police, and the Appleton police SWAT team.
