Greensboro man accused of assaulting woman, causing her to lose her eye

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man assaulted a woman so severely on Friday that the woman lost an eye, according to an arrest warrant.

Greensboro police charged Anthony Wayne Hayes Sr., 59, of Greensboro, with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury, according to the warrant.

Warrants stated that he did “bludgeon victim’s left eye causing eye to be removed.”

He remains in the Guilford County jail without bail. His first court appearance is 11 a.m. Monday, according to online jail records. No bond was allowed.
