ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A video that was apparently filmed in North Carolina shows a group of black bears roaming throughout a neighborhood.

Michael J Ruiz posted the video of a “momma bear and her five cubs” to YouTube earlier this week. He said he shot the video Tuesday in Asheville in the western part of the state.

One of the bears, apparently wearing some kind of tracking collar, can be seen digging into somebody’s trash can.

The bear then took out some trash and shared it with the cubs. The group of bears then headed to some nearby woods.

The black bear is the only bear species found in North Carolina or anywhere in the eastern United States.
