What is the best breakfast in North Carolina? There are many options to choose from, but the Food Network claims to have the answer.

The cable TV channel traveled across the country to find the best breakfast in all 50 states. The results were posted online.

The Food Network claims that the best breakfast in the Tar Heel state is the fried chicken biscuit from Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen in Chapel Hill.

“A staff of seven make 1,500 biscuits a week for this sandwich, topping each one with butter as it comes out of the oven and stuffing it with a piece of crunchy fried chicken,” according to the Food Network.

Several restaurants in the Piedmont have received accolades for their breakfast meals including Smith Street Diner in Greensboro and Mary’s Gourmet Diner in Winston-Salem.
