Police arrest Winston-Salem man for allegedly breaking into home, assaulting woman

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a 27-year-old woman’s home and assaulting her.

Agbara Kenyatta Walters, 36, of 1617 Shady Mount Ave., was charged with felony breaking and entering, assault on a female, assault by strangulation, malicious injury to property, and resisting and delaying an officer.

Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to 1502 E. First St. after receiving reports that a man forcibly entered a home and was assaulting a woman inside.

Upon arrival, officers heard screams for help from a woman inside the home.

When they entered the home, officers could not find the suspect in the main portion of the home.

A SWAT team responded to the scene and found Walters hidden in the attic.

Bond has not yet been set for Walters.
