7-year-old boy shot in Wake County

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting of a 7-year-old boy in the 4200 block of Ferriday Court off Castlegate Drive northeast of Raleigh.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The child was taken to WakeMed North by a private vehicle before deputies arrived and then transferred to Duke.

Sheriff Donnie Harrison told WTVD it appears the child was seriously hurt.
