RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in southeastern Randolph County on Monday evening, according to Randolph County 911.

The accident happened at 5:56 p.m. on N.C. 42 near Timber Lea Lane, which is southeast of Asheboro near the Coleridge community.

Randolph County 911 did not provide information on the victim.

Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.

N.C. 42 was closed from about 7:10 to 8:30 p.m., according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
