Asheboro police search for robbery suspect considered armed and dangerous
ASHEBORO, N.C. — Police are searching for a robbery suspect they say should be considered armed and dangerous.
Mario Donte Snuggs, 30, of Asheboro, is wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Walgreens in Asheboro, according to Asheboro Assistant Chief of Police Jim Smith.
On Monday at 11:34 a.m., officers responded to Walgreens, located at 207 N. Fayetteville St., in reference to an armed robbery.
The suspect allegedly entered the business, approached an employee at a cash register, displayed a knife and demanded money, Smith said. The suspect took the money from the register and then fled the area.
A K-9 track was conducted by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, however, the trail went cold.
Smith said an investigation was initiated and a number of items were seized as evidence. As a result of the investigation, Snuggs was identified as the person of interest and two warrants were obtained for his arrest.
Anyone with information on this crime or the whereabouts of Snuggs can contact Asheboro police.
