UNC assistant professor arrested on child sexual exploitation charges
A University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill research assistant professor has been charged with second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor, according to WRAL.
Kuo Hsiung Yang, 33, was arrested Thursday.
According to Yang’s LinkedIn account, he has been a research assistant professor and pharmacometrician at UNC for the past three years. His account also says he is secretary/treasurer of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
Yang is in jail under a $500,000 bond.
The FBI is also involved in the case, local law enforcement officials told WRAL.
UNC confirmed his employment Friday to WRAL and said he has been with the university since August 2012.
