Neighbors desperately tried to save family from Greensboro apartment fire
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Billy Parker desperately tried to break into the apartment Sunday afternoon as it filled with heavy smoke.
Inside, a woman and her three children screamed for help. But then those screams went silent.
“We agreed we didn’t care if we got hurt,” Parker said. “We were going to get them out of that apartment.”
Greensboro firefighters eventually got all four people out of the burning apartment in Ray Warren Homes, off of East Gate City Boulevard.
