Rowan County man accused of sexually assaulting 14-year-old

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A 24-year-old Rowan County man was arrested after police received reports that he was having sex and using marijuana with a 14-year-old.

Christopher Ramon-Sanchez, 24, was charged with six felony counts of statutory rape, 11 counts of felony statutory sex offense and six misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to police, the incidents began occurring in September 2015 at various locations around Salisbury, while the child was supposed to be in school.

Ramon-Sanchez was placed in jail under a $250,000 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
