Investigators seek information in arson of Eden officer’s home

STONEVILLE, N.C. — Investigators are seeking information following a mobile home fire on Friday night.

On Friday at about 11:30 p.m., a mobile home at 2035 Garrett Road was destroyed by fire.

The mobile home was owned by Jeffery Garrett Jr. and occupied by Eden police officer Kevin Murphy.

Murphy was not at home at the time of the fire.

The cause has been determined to be arson.

Anyone with information is asked to call Assistant Fire Marshal Jay Brooks with the Rockingham County Fire Marshal’s Office at (336) 634-3004.
