Charlotte airport may be attracting more crime, including drug smuggling.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A smuggling case unfolded at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport over the weekend and it may be a sign of a bigger problem, WSOC reported.

Charlotte has the sixth busiest airport in the world and it seems to be attracting more crime.

On Saturday, customs enforcement stopped Winston Sherif Richards.

He had flown in directly from Jamaica, and investigators said he brought a kilo of cocaine in his carry-on backpack, worth tens of thousands of dollars.
