Man arrested after allegedly hitting people with car after fight in Reidsville

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Deputies have arrested a man accused of hitting two people and four vehicles with his car after a fight in Reidsville.

Kevin Eugene Bartlett, 37, of Reidsville, has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and one count of injury to personal property.

Authorities said it happened as the suspect was picking up his son from a home at 3362 Vance St. Ext. in Reidsville at about 1 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect went to get his son and got into a physical fight with a man in the yard outside the home.

After the fight, the suspect got into his vehicle and allegedly struck his ex-wife, who is now dating the man he had been fighting with.

He also allegedly struck the 18-year-old son of the man he was fighting with and rammed four cars that were parked on the property.

The suspect, his ex-wife and the 18-year-old man were all taken to the hospital. The victims were treated and released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged after being released from the hospital. He was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a domestic hold and had court planned for next month.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges on Bartlett are anticipated, according to Rockingham County deputies.
