North Carolina man charged with murder after man’s body found in field

LOUISBURG, N.C. — A North Carolina man has been charged with murder in connection to the death of a man whose body was found in a field.

WRAL reported that James Marshall Small Jr., of Henderson, was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of 20-year-old Eddie Ronald David Jr.

The victim was found shot to death earlier this week and had been reported missing by Vance County authorities earlier this month.

The victim’s mother told WNCN that authorities also found her son’s car had been set on fire.

The suspect has been jailed without bond and has court planned for next week. A motive has not been released.
