Alamance County man accused of using axe to break into elderly woman’s home

PENDER COUNTY, N.C. — An Alamance County man is accused of kicking down an elderly woman’s front door and using an axe to break into her bedroom.

The Wilmington Star News reported that Tyler Nathaniel Turner, 18, of Snow Camp, faces charges of first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and damage to real property.

The alleged incident happened at a home near Burgaw in Pender County on the eastern side of the state early Tuesday morning.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office received a burglary in progress call at the home shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The woman at the home was found uninjured, according to the paper. The suspect was treated for minor injuries which were sustained from an unrelated incident that happened prior to the allegations.
