Man arrested in connection to Rowan County armed robbery

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A Rowan County man was arrested Tuesday in connection to the robbery of a Sonic near Landis.

Marlin Phillip Brown Jr., 23, was charged with robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon.

Brown allegedly robbed the Sonic at knifepoint around 1:30 a.m, on Oct. 17. He took an undisclosed amount of money before he fled the scene.

Brown was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
