Police charge Greensboro man with attempted rape

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro man faces an attempted rape charge in connection with an Oct. 6 incident, according to arrest warrants obtained by the Greensboro News & Record.

Ronald Lee Barham, 49, who has an address at the Greensboro Extended Stay Hotel, 1200 Lanada Road, Room 205, attempted to rape the woman by force, according to the warrants. He also confined the woman during the attempted assault, according to the warrants.

Barham also hit a man in the head and face with his fists, causing cuts and bruises that required hospitalization, according to the warrants.

Police charged him today with attempted first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury and a probation violation.
