Greensboro has second-most foreclosures in the state

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The local housing market has improved dramatically since the real estate implosion, but it hasn’t dropped enough in one area.

California research company RealtyTrac released a report Thursday that highlights a weak spot in every housing market — foreclosures — and found that Greensboro is the second worst in the state.

In September, Charlotte had 2,226 homes in some stage of foreclosure followed by Greensboro with 749 homes.

The two cities are troubled for different reasons.
