Police seek information in death of man found badly burned on side of Burlington interstate

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Burlington police released more information about a June incident where a man died after being found on the side of the interstate with severe burns.

Juan Mario Martinez Trujillo, 56, of Hillsborough, was found badly burned on the eastbound shoulder of Interstate 40/85 near the Alamance Road exit.

Trujillo was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill where he died on Aug. 24, as a result of his injuries.

Although police have not released the name of the person of interest in this case, they have released information about a person and a vehicle that were seen in the area of Hatchery Road at the time of the incident.

The person of interest is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 180 to 210 pounds.

The vehicle was described as a dark gray-colored pickup.
