1 arrested in connection to armed robbery of 75-year-old in Rockingham County

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A man wanted in connection to an armed robbery in Rockingham County has been located and arrested, the Rockingham County Sheriff said Wednesday morning.

Lawrence London, 75, was taken into custody, but Sharon London remains at large.

The alleged crime happened last Wednesday at about 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Church in Ruffin.

Sharon Moser London (aka Sharon Denise Moser), 51, is wanted for robbery with a dangerous weapon. Lawrence Luther London, 75, was wanted for aiding and abetting robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The sheriff’s office said the two are accused of robbing a 75-year-old Ruffin woman.

According to the report, while at Mt. Carmel Chruch the two asked the 75-year-old woman for money to put gas in their vehicle. The woman accompanied the two to a nearby convenience store where she paid for gasoline they pumped into their vehicle.

Upon arriving back at the church, the two demanded more money from the woman. When she refused, a struggle ensued, the sheriff’s office said.

During the struggle, Sharon London is accused of threatening to shoot the woman if she did not give up her purse, at which time she did.

The 75-year-old woman was not harmed.
