GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police have made an arrest in Wednesday night’s fatal stabbing of a Marine in Greensboro.

Jayda Lyn Gardner, 20, was arrested at 408 Lakewood Drive in Salisbury, and charged with murder early Friday morning.

Officers responded to 4 Hiltin Place in reference to a stabbing at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

There they found the victim, 27-year-old Deanndrous Chantill Johnson, with life-threatening injuries from a stab wound.

Johnson was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Shereka Finley, the roommate of the victim, said the suspect had been living with them for the past three months because she had no place to go.

Finley said the stabbing happened after her roommate tried to force the suspect to move out.
