Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office seeking whereabouts of missing boy allegedly taken by mother

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Rockingham County sheriff’s deputies are currently seeking the whereabouts of a missing juvenile.

Jacob Emannual Durham, 10, was taken from 171 Shady Maple Drive, Reidsville, on Tuesday at about 9 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said the boy was taken by his mother, Shonta Durham, who does not have custody of Jacob Durham.

The boy’s grandparents have custody of him as a result of a court order issued by Rockingham County District Court Judge Christine Strader, the sheriff’s office said.

Jacob Durham was reported missing by his grandmother at about 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Shonta Durham is said to stay at various hotels in the Greensboro area, the sheriff’s office said.
