HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — A simple donation turned out to be worth a lot more than originally thought, according to WLOS.

Earlier this week, the Blue Ridge Humane Society Thrift Store received a truck load of items. Terri Thompson, the store’s manager, went about her typical check of the furniture and found nearly $700 under a sofa cushion.

“When we come against something like this where we have an opportunity to return a little bit to one of our donors, I love it,” Thompson said. “And the fact that she would feel so good about it that she’d say ‘you all keep some’…what goes around comes around.”

The hidden money is being sent back to the woman who donated the couch. She was so grateful for the store returning the money that she donated $100 back to the animals of the Humane Society.
