At least one injured in crash on I-85 in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. – At least one person was injured after a multi-vehicle crash Saturday on I-85 in Davidson County south of Lexington.

Three of four lanes of I-85 northbound at mile-marker 84 were closed as of shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Churchland Fire Department and Linwood Fire Department responded to the crash at about 2:23 p.m. Traffic is expected to be cleared by 4 p.m.

There was at least one injury, but the person’s identity has not been released.

The North Carolina Deptartment of Transportation released the following information about a detour:

Use Exit 81, Long Ferry Road and turn left at the top of ramp. Continue to US-29 North. Follow US-29 North to NC-150 and turn left onto NC-150 West, then make an immediate right onto Old Salisbury Road. Follow Old Salisbury Road to Belmont Road to re-access I-85 North at Exit 86.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details were immediately available.
