MOUNT AIRY, N.C. -- Thousands of fans of the classic 60s Andy Griffith Show are in town for the annual Mayberry Days.

"We come for the small town atmosphere," said Ricky and Sandra Hawkins, who drove for the third year in a row from Missouri. "Nobody's a stranger here."

This year the festival, which celebrates the show made famous by Mount Airy's favorite son Andy Griffith, welcomes Barbara Eden and Clint Howard. Eden played a manicurist before becoming a household name on "I Dream of Genie." Howard, the younger brother of Ron Howard, played Leon on the show.

Despite the rain, crowds lined up for hours to meet Eden Friday and Howard Friday at the Andy Griffith Museum.

The event includes a parade Saturday morning at 9 a.m. For a complete list of events, click here.
