NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A single mother in Tennessee says the understanding she received when she had to bring her son to her university class on Monday was more than she could have ever asked for.

Amanda Osbon, who studies at DeVry University, told WKRN that her 2-year-old son got up during class and wanted to be held by the professor.

To her surprise, Professor Joel Bunkowske picked her son up and continued to hold him as he taught the class.

“Most of us in the class are parents, so everyone was very understanding that he was there,” Osbon wrote to WKRN.

At first Osbon said it was slightly embarrassing, but noted how, “amazing, patient and kind,” the professor was with her son.

According to LinkedIn, Bunkowske is a lawyer who teaches at DeVry’s Keller Graduate School of Management.
