Sen. Josh Stein, D-Wake

Sen. Josh Stein, D-Wake, announced this week he’s running for state attorney general in 2016.

“Friends,” he said in an email message, “Tomorrow, I officially announce my campaign for North Carolina Attorney General! Anna, the kids, and I are excited, and we are deeply grateful for your support that has helped make this announcement possible.”

“As Attorney General, I’ll stand up for those who work hard and play by the rules. And I’ll take on big corporations and politicians when they don’t. Because no one is above the law,” the message continues.

Stein, an attorney, is in his fourth term as a state senator, first elected in 2008 as a successor to now-State Treasurer Janet Cowell.
