ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A school bus headed to Alexander Wilson Elementary School was rear-ended on Highway 54 just outside of Graham Tuesday morning.

Bus 51 was stopped to pick up students and had the lights and storm arm activated when the driver of a 2001 Mitsubishi rear-ended the bus. The car was partially lodged under the bus.

There were 20 students onboard at the time of the wreck, but no one was injured.

Authorities said the driver of the car, Latashia Wynn, 26, of Graham, was charged with failure to reduce speed.

Wynn was taken to UNC Hospital with minor injuries.

The students who were on the bus were transferred to another bus. Officials with the Alamance-Burlington School System will call all of the students’ parents when they arrive at school.
