Police identify man found dead after High Point fire; investigated as homicide

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Fire crews found a man dead inside a High Point apartment complex that caught fire Sunday night and officials are calling it a homicide.

The body of 37-year-old Marshall Lamont Williams was found after firefighters responded to a report of a working fire at the Fairfield Manor Apartments.

Firefighters were called to the location at 601 E. Fairfield Road shortly before 6:30 p.m.

After reviewing the evidence at the scene, the incident is now being treated as a homicide according to High Point police.

No arrests have been made at the time. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information can call Crimestoppers at (336) 889-4000.
