More details released about woman in crash in Old Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Police are releasing more details about a crash in Winston-Salem that injured a woman.

Nancy Christian Street, 63, of Canton, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze when she lost consciousness at about 2:30 p.m. Friday on Old Salem Road at the entrance to Old Salem, according to police.

Police said the accelerator was still under her foot and the car swerved off the road. It eventually hit two fences on the property of Old Salem.

Police said she is in critical condition. A medical condition may have been a contributing factor.

Old Salem Road at West Academy Street was closed for about 45 minutes on Friday, but has since reopened.
