Power restored to Duke Energy customers after brief outage in Guilford County

UPDATE: Power has been restored to Duke Energy customers after a brief outage in Guilford County.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Nearly 3,000 Duke Energy customers in Guilford County are without power this morning.

The outage is south of Interstate 40, east of Highway 68 and north of Gallimore Dairy Road.

The outage has left several intersections without traffic lights.

Officers will be manning the major intersections throughout the morning.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution and to follow all right-of-way rules at the unmanned intersections.

Duke Energy is still working to determine what caused this outage.

According to Duke Energy’s outage map, power is expected to be restored by 7:30 a.m.
