Police identify NC man who died shortly after being detained

RALEIGH, N.C. — An investigation is underway in Raleigh after a man died shortly after being detained by police Monday morning.

Police identified the man as 52-year-old Carl Devince King.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. when officers received a report of a disturbance in the 3000 block of Slippery Elm Drive.
