GREENSBORO, N. C. -- Thursday marked the opening of the new Central Carolina Workers Justice Center in Greensboro.

It's located in the Interactive Resource Center on East Washington Street.

This is only the third such center in the state and was a collaborative effort among several local and state groups.

The goal is to bring together low-wage and unemployed workers to help them build power together and achieve a living wage and better employment standards.

They hope to fight for things such as better wages, insurance benefits, health care options, workers compensation, workers rights, fair wages, sick leave, child care and voting power.

For more information, contact Michelle Kennedy at the IRC at 336-544-5422.
