Bus. 85 traffic slowed between High Point, Thomasville due to garbage truck fire

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A garbage truck fire slowed traffic on a portion of Business 85 between High Point and Thomasville on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened near the Old Thomasville Road exit.

The incident was reported at 4:32 p.m. According to Randolph County 911, the garbage truck was carrying cardboard, which caught fire.

Earlier in the afternoon, all lanes of Business 85 were closed at the location of the incident.

It is unclear how the fire started.

No injuries were reported.
