GREENSBORO — The case continues for a man accused of shooting a Greensboro resident to death New Years Eve in 2011.

Eddi Horton, 23, who faces a first-degree murder charge, was on the trial calendar for Guilford County Superior Court Monday but didn’t appear.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Howard Neumann said a medical examiner involved in the case couldn’t appear in court this week so the case has been continued. A new date has not been scheduled.

Horton is accused of fatally shooting Walter Anthony Alston Jr., 26, on the 900 block of Tuscaloosa Street on Dec. 31, 2011, during a failed robbery attempt.
