HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — One North Carolina man posted a video claiming Harnett County is using his land as a “parking lot” for heavy equipment.

YouTube user GuudeBoulderfist posted this video Aug. 12 to protest the county’s use of his land as a “parking lot” for heavy equipment.

A spokesperson for Harnett County told FOX8 the equipment belongs to NCDOT and not the county.

“I informed the county when they started parking their big equipment on it, that I was not OK with that,” he says in the video.

In the video, he explains that there is a legal easement that allows the county to park road equipment up to 20 feet off of the highway. However, GuudeBoulderfist claims he has measured and the equipment goes far beyond what is allowed by law.

Despite his attempts to get the county to move the vehicles, he said the equipment is still parked there several weeks later.

The man said he usually allows elderly people from the church across the street to use his land as overflow parking on Sunday, but now he can’t because of all of the equipment.

Now as a last resort, he says he plans to bill the Harnett County for parking.

“I’m now in the parking business guys,”  he said in the video. “I’m going to be billing my county for parking because they don’t seem to respect people’s property.”
