GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man who was found dead at an apartment complex on Mystic Drive in Greensboro last September was shot twice in the head, according to an autopsy obtained by the Greensboro News & Record.

Ernest Darnell Roberts Jr., 26, of 807 Rose Crest Drive, High Point, was found behind dumpsters just after 6 p.m. on Sept. 24, 2014, shortly after neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots.

Roberts was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witnesses described seeing a dark-colored vehicle leaving the area shortly after the shooting.

Police on Tuesday told the News & Record that the shooting was gang-related but did not identify the gangs involved.

No one has been charged in the homicide to date.
