GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police are looking for a gray or silver four-door sedan that witnesses saw leave the scene of a deadly shooting at a Greensboro apartment complex.

Officers responded to Spencer Street Apartments, located at 2101 Spencer St., at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in reference to shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who had been shot multiple times. The victim succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Capt. Mike Richey said the shooting victim was in an argument with two or three people inside that car. Richey said investigators haven’t been able to determine a race or gender for the people inside the car, but investigators don’t think this was a random shooting.

“We look at robbery, narcotics, gang involvement -- those are all avenues that we explore,” said Richey. “At this time I’m not ready to say if any of those are involved.”

The name of the deceased has not been released though Richey said he is in his early 20s.

Richey said police could use more information about the car and the people they're looking for. If you have information that could help you can remain anonymous and possibly earn a cash reward by calling Crime Stoppers at (336) 373-1000.
