This New Zealand father’s tattoo might just win him the father-of-the-year award.

Alistair Campbell’s 6-year-old daughter, Charlotte, has cochlear implants to help her hear.

Charlotte got her first implant when she was just 4 years old. When she had to get her second implant, Campbell decided to get his own “implant” tattooed on the left side of his head, according to BuzzFeed News.

Campbell told the New Zealand Herald he got the tattoo so his little girl wouldn’t feel like the odd one out.

He shaved his head to get the tattoo but plans to grow his hair back and shave his head on special occasions.

Campbell said the tattoo took about 45 minutes and involved a little bit of pain.

When Charlotte saw the tattoo she told her dad it was “cool.”

“The reactions have been overwhelming, mostly positive.,” Campbell told BuzzFeed News. “Some negative comments have surfaced, they don’t bother me, we’re doing what is best for our daughter and our family.”
